Tay Thye Sun
GEMOLOGIST · FOUNDER
Tay Thye Sun graduated as a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America in 1980. His background includes a BSc in Geology from the University of London and postgraduate study at Imperial College, London.
He was awarded Fellowship status by the Gemmological Association of Great Britain in 2013. His work includes published gemological research and contributions to international gemological meetings.
The laboratory’s established work includes jewellery appraisal for family heirlooms and gem and jewellery matters involving solicitors.
Examination informs the valuation.
Our technical work encompasses diamonds, coloured gemstones, jade and pearls. Identification, treatment assessment, condition and relevant quality characteristics help build the item description used in the assessment.
